Bringing Literature to Life in the Classroom
This interactive approach to literacy will demonstrate our basic Literature to Life methodology. We show educators how to encourage critical thinking and inspire a student's interest in reading and writing through active exploration and making personal connections. This workshop can include a performance from our Literature to Life roster which will be used as the launching pad for the literacy learning.
Team Building / Fostering Cooperation & Trust
This workshop tackles how to build a successful group dynamic and create a classroom environment that is most conducive to individual and group productivity and creativity. This workshop can also be used as a motivational opportunity for teachers and/or administrators with an organization school, or district.
Theatre as a Cross-Curricular Tool
This workshop explores the unique ability of drama-in-education techniques to be used as a catalyst for learning across the curriculum. The workshop will provide educators with tools to help their students make personal connections to the curriculum and explore subjects in a kinetic way. Examples of subject specific themes: HISTORY: Bringing historical documents to life through drama. ENGLISH: Exploring literature and personal narrative through written and oral expression. ESL: Approaching ESL through interactive drama-in-education techniques.
Blueprint for Theatre Arts
This workshop will use interactive drama-in-education techniques to help educators become more familiar with and able to utilize the New York City Department of Education's theatre Blueprint for Teaching and Learning.
