Theatrefor Audiences

A Literature to Life Theatre Experience is a verbatim theatrical adaptation of significant American literature brought to life by a professional actors. Each presentation uses the Literature to Life educational methodology through pre-show and post-show activities and a companion Teacher's Resource Guide.

- Elementary classrooms working with our age appropriate performances of Zora, Black Boy, The Secret Life of Bees and Listen to the Wind
- Professional Actor
- Master Teaching Artist
- Classroom Teachers
- Designated School Personnel
- The American Place Theatre Staff and Company

WHEN does it happen?
DURATION
- 15-minute pre-show interactive discussion
- 1-hour performance (Actual length may vary slightly.)
- 15-minute facilitated post-show interactive discussion
SCHEDULING:
- There is typically no set production calendar, and performances can be scheduled throughout the year on request.
- When booking, please allow at least 2 weeks in advance for New York performances, and 3 weeks for National Tours.
WHERE does it happen?

- Our Black Box Theatre (120 seat maximum, 80 seat minimum), larger groups on special request
- In your school auditorium or classroom
- Performing Arts Centers, Libraries and University venues across the country
